Privacy policy

Who we are

FixMyProd is run by Poliakov Maksim IE, a sole proprietor registered in Armenia (“we”). Contact: hello@fixmyprod.com. Our postal address is available on request.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist we store: your email address; your experience level and your answer about what broke in your production, if you give them; the version of this policy you agreed to; the time; the page that sent you here and any utm_ tags in the link you followed. On the website we do not store your IP address.

When you sign in to the labs we store the email address and the account id GitHub or Google gives us, the version of the terms of use you accepted and when. When you play a lab we store the sessions you start and what happened to them, the results of the checks run against your lab, the address you start each lab from and the address each SSH connection comes from. If you wait in line for a lab and leave your terminal, we email you once when your turn comes.

Everything you type in a lab session and everything your terminal shows is recorded by our gateway. The terms of use say why.

Cookies and analytics

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and does not identify you.

Google Analytics 4 runs only if you click “Accept analytics”. Until then its script is not loaded at all. If you accept, it sets these cookies:

Two settings are kept in your browser's local storage and never leave it: your analytics choice under fmp-consent, and the light or dark theme under pref-theme if you switch it. To change your analytics choice, use “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page.

Signing in at app.fixmyprod.com sets one cookie, __Host-fmp, from api.fixmyprod.com. It keeps you signed in for 30 days. It is needed for signing in, so it is set without asking.

Why

To email you when the labs open, to decide which labs to build first, and, if you allow analytics, to see which pages are useful. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time.

To run the labs you start, check and score them, and improve them, on the basis of the terms of use you accept (Art. 6(1)(b)); and to keep the labs from being abused, on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping them safe for everyone (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Who processes it for us

• Amazon Web Services: the waitlist database, the lab machines and the session recordings, in the EU (Frankfurt); the website itself is served through AWS CloudFront from locations worldwide.
• Hetzner Online: the servers that run the labs' API and its database of accounts and sessions, in the EU (Helsinki).
• Okta (Auth0): sign-in to the labs, in the EU.
• GitHub and Google: when you sign in with one of them, it confirms who you are and gives us your email address and account id.
• Cloudflare: DNS; the connection to the labs' API, which Cloudflare decrypts on its way to us and so sees; Turnstile, which checks that the form was sent by a person and to do that processes your IP address and browser signals on our behalf; and Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies.
• Google Ireland Ltd: Google Analytics 4, only after you accept. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the US under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Google signals, advertising features and data sharing are turned off.

Amazon Web Services, Okta, GitHub, Google and Cloudflare are US companies, and some of your data may reach them outside the EU. Such transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the company is certified under it, and otherwise on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

We do not sell your data or share it with anyone else.

How long we keep it

The waitlist: until the labs launch, plus six months. Then we delete it. Analytics data: 14 months.

Your account, your sessions, their check results, the address you started each lab from and the address each SSH connection came from: until you delete the account. Session recordings: 30 days, or up to 180 days for a recording we mark for review.

Backups of the waitlist database are kept for 35 days, so a deleted entry also disappears from them within 35 days. Backups of the labs' database are kept for up to 14 days, and session recordings live up to 3 more days in backups of the gateway.

Your rights

Email hello@fixmyprod.com to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, including your labs account and its recordings, or to withdraw your consent. We handle requests by hand, within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, the version above changes too, and we keep every previous version: 2026-10-15, 2026-10-09, 2026-09-19.

Version 2026-10-20 added two things: the cookie you get when you sign in at app.fixmyprod.com (see Cookies and analytics), and the one email we send when your turn in the queue for a lab comes (see What we collect). The previous version is kept.
